Dying Is Easy
Stand-up comic Adam Hanson has one bad gig, one drunken argument with his girlfriend, Jozee Jackson, and one blank space in his memory. By morning, Jozee has disappeared.
At first, the police think she may simply have walked out after their row. But when Jozee fails to turn up for work or her gigs, Adam starts looking for her himself.
His search takes him deep into Brighton’s stand-up scene, a world of rival comics, stolen jokes, secret affairs and vicious grudges, where everyone seems to know something about Jozee that Adam doesn’t.
And the more he discovers about her hidden past, the worse things look for him.
Jozee was planning to leave him, their neighbours heard them fighting, and someone claims they saw Adam moving a body on the night she vanished. Worse still, Adam can’t remember how he got home.
Now the police are closing in, someone wants him to stop asking questions, and Adam has to find Jozee before he loses his chance to prove what he knows to be true: He didn’t kill his girlfriend... did he?
Dying is easy. Proving you’re innocent might just get you killed.
